Professor Jordi Martorell, Duran Farell Prize for Technological Research to develop organic photovoltaic cells

Jordi Martorell, a professor at the UPC and an ICFO researcher, has been awarded the 11th Duran Farell Prize for Technological Research for a research project on organic photovoltaic cells that allow electricity to be obtained from the sun's light energy. delivered on September 21, during the opening ceremony of the new academic year at the UPC.

The Social Council of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) has recognized with the 11th Duran Farell Award for Technological Research the project 'Organic photovoltaic cells based on nanophotonics with record-scale efficiency', developed by Jordi Martorell at the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), research entity linked to the UPC.

Researcher of the Department of Physics and professor of the Superior School of Industrial, Aerospace and Audiovisual Engineering of Terrassa (ESEIAAT) of the UPC, Jordi Martorell is responsible for the research group of the ICFO Organic Nanostructured Photovoltaics, in the framework of which he has developed the project , together with researchers and researchers Silvia Colodrero, Quan Liu, Paola Mantilla, Pablo Romero and Johann Toudert.
